11 Healthy foods your fridge must always have

When you are craving for something delicious to stave off those hunger pangs, open the fridge and choose from all the healthy foods you have. Make sure your fridge always holds these foods mentioned below so that when you binge, you eat something wholesome.

Eggs:

Eggs are some of the most wholesome foods available. Besides all that they do contain, they also have choline, a macronutrient that aids brain development, nerve functioning, movement of muscles and maintaining good metabolism levels.

Avocado:

Since these fruits are ready-to-eat, they make a good choice for healthy food. You can eat this perfect healthy snack anytime of the day. Add it to a salad, omelette, sandwich or tacos for that extra zingy flavour.

Yogurt:

Perhaps you want plain curds or fruit yogurt–choose either of these foods loaded with enhanced proteins and calcium for bone building. Being abundant in probiotics, it’s good for your gut health too and keeps you cool on a hot day.

Fresh herbs:

The leaves of fresh herbs are filled with antioxidants that add health and flavor to your food. Antioxidants reduce the ill effects of free radicals and raises your immunity. Use them to roast chicken or turkey or as marinades.

Milk:

Make your choice of milk–soy, toned, non-fat, regular, slim or 2%, it’s the healthiest food you can ever think of having. Not only is it rich in calcium, it can also reduce your risk of heart disease and help you lose weight. Have it hot or chilled, with tea or coffee–these are your choices entirely.

Almonds:

Rich in fibre, Vitamin E, magnesium, protein and healthy fats, almonds are also instrumental in lowering blood sugar and cholesterol levels while also lowering blood pressure.  If you are exceptionally hungry, do not reach out for a burger but for a handful of almonds. They could help you lose weight too.

Hummus:

This tasty Mediterranean dip can be teamed up with anything else to make a delicious dish. It is reputed to lower triglyceride and cholesterol levels and those of rheumatoid arthritis. It also lowers the risk of developing cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and cardiovascular disease.

Apples:

Rich in iron, fiber and Vitamin C, apples are low-calorie foods and have no cholesterol or fat. By eating them regularly, you could lower your risk for cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

Chickpea Miso Paste:

Ditch the soy-based miso and go in for the chickpea alternative. Not only does this take care of any soy allergies you might have but is also easy to digest, healthy and flavourful.

Paneer:

Cottage cheese or paneer is filled with the goodness of calcium and protein. It adds strength to bones and teeth and keeps hunger pangs away. It also burns fat better.

Lemons:

No matter what you eat, for easy stomach cleansing, there is nothing better than lemon juice. It also aids digestion and adds zing to boring food.

Perhaps there are many more foods that are as zesty and flavorsome as these, but it helps to have a few healthful foods that you can rely on for better health and easy fat burning.
